Times are cooling

With the weather in Bahrain turning gorgeous, it's time to re-work our outifits! So here are some suggestions for outfits that can work during the warmer daytime climate and can easily be adjusted to accomodate for the cooler evenings.

THE BEACH PARTY
It seems our weekends have been taken over by Amwaj's beach parties. Loose fitted dresses or shirts are the best option. Maxi dresses are great because they are comfortable and look chic on a beach. Pair them up with wedges for a party look that will be comfortable enough to take you from day to night. Wearing gold accented accessories will glamorize the outfit for the night. Add a scarf, pashmina or small fitted jacket for when the temperatures drop.

Jacket: Lot78 Ziggy suede biker jacket
Maxi Dress: Gypsy05 Talula silk dress (Available here to buy)
Scarf: Roberto Cavali
Belt: Arden B
Wedges: Bruno Magli
Bag: JJ Winters suede fringe bag (Available here to buy)

GIRL'S NIGHT OUT
It's very cliche to dress up in sexy dresses for a night out with the girls, but when you're next heading out into town why not try something different and go for this season's androgenous look. You can make this look as feminine as you want by choosing tailoured, fitted cuts or accessorising to your heart's content. The addition of bright colours will make the outfit fun, young and modern. Choose buttoned up shirts to enhance the masculine effect and for the cooler evenings add a tuxedo style blazer which features textures such as lace, silk or leather to soften the structured look.

Blazer: Tibi leather trimmed tuxedo
Top: Balenciaga houndstooth waistcoat
Leggings: LnA Dani Stahl zipper leggings (Available here to buy)
Clutch: JJ Winters croco chain clutch (Available here to buy)
Shoes: Alexander McQueen
Sunglasses: Religion
Lipstick: Mac Russian Red

CASUAL DINING
Keep hold of your summer dresses because by adding booties and a light cardigan or jumper you have instantly created a fall outfit. Accessories should be adapted to the fall look accordingly, for example straw hats swapped for felt or fedora ones. Casual doesn't imply scruffy or careless. Keep the look clean and refined by choosing luxury items - silk scarf, suede shoes or a cashmere jumper.

Cardigan: DKNY Silk-cashmere cardi
Dress: Gypsy05 Liyah dress (Available here to buy)
Shoes: Jimmy Choo suede booties
Bag: Fendi Peekaboo canvas tote
Sunglasses: Vintage Gucci
Bangles: Oasis
Hat: Fedora

Colour Combo Trend

Celebrities have set a new colour combination trend - black, white and red!
While black and white are colours that are generally associated with formal wear, the addition of red creates a flirty feminine look.
If you're looking to try out this colour combo don't be afraid to mix and match - you don't have to strictly stick to red trousers and black blazer. If red is too bold of a colour for you to wear, then having it as your trouser can be a little daunting. So look to use it as your accent colour - add it in as your accessory for example. This can be in the form of a bag, shoes, belt, necklace or for an edgy look, use a pair of red RayBans!

Clutch - Alexander McQueen , Shoes- Aldo , Belt - Reiss , Choker - DaniiJo , Sunglasses - RayBan Wayfarer
But remember, accessories should be kept to a minimum - the colours are loud enough themselves and don't need more distraction.
If you're looking for another colour to blend in with this look then prints are ideal. Leopard print always looks great with red. Add it to your outfit and you have instant sex appeal.

Here are a few of my favourite pieces that can easily be combined in different ways to create a number of looks for this trend.
Red Blazer-Preen , Black leather trousers-H&M , Pussy bow blouse-H&M , Vest with leather trim-Joseph ,
Black Blazer-H&M , Pencil skirt-Moschino Cheap&Chic , Leopard print booties-Zara

Even Hollywood's little fashionista, Suri Cruise, is wearing the trend. Check out how she wears hers.....

Ladies of Leather

Today's outfit was inspired by a popular trend for this season - leather. I've been spotting more and more celebs wearing the leather trouser lately. Most of the ladies sitting front row for Burberry Prorsum S/S12 runway show at London Fashion Week proved that this is a look we definately should follow....
I love the look of leather. If worn correctly it can look extremely chic and is a great way to inject instant style into any outfit. When choosing a pair of leather trousers or leggings it's important they are of impeccable fit. Over time, with wear, the trouser will stretch out and eventually look saggy!

A right pair allows plenty of great looks for both day and night. Ellie Goulding does the daytime look with elegance by choosing a feminine blouse. I personally love this look and use it as my inspiration for today's outfit. For an evening look, add stilettos and a tailored blazer as Gemma has done.

While black is the traditional colour to choose, now we are seeing more daring colours such as red, brown and burnt orange. This is a fun and young way of wearing the leather trend.

If this trend is too overhwhelming for you, then why not try it in small doses by choosing leggings with leather panels.....as I have done!

Leggings with faux leather panels: Forever21, Shirt: Dorothy Perkins, Shoes: Primark, Sunglasses: Mango, Bag: Gucci
Earrings: Urban Outfitters
Bracelet: L'Oreal Free Gift, Black ring: H&M, Butterfly ring: Accessorize, Leaf ring: Forever21

The Toe-cap trend

Another trend has been spotted amongst Hollywood's elite. This time they're wearing the "toe-cap" shoe.

This style of footwear originates from Chanel's trademark two-tone design which has been around for over 50 years now.

While Chanel's style is classic and timeless, this new re-vamped version is modern and hip and is definately a trend I will be trying out.
