Louboutin Lovers

Yesterday while I was researching my post on toe cleavage, I came across an image of a celeb wearing a pair of Louboutins which made her feet arch in such a way that it looked abnormal - and not to mention uncomfortable!!

So I had to photoshop it and create this image.......

For the love of fashion.......!!!!! How can that be bearable to walk in?? I personally don't own a pair of the famous red-soled stilettos so I don't know if they are as comfortable as people claim they are (unless they're just convincing themselves otherwise) but just by looking at what those shoes are doing to her bones I don't think I'd want to spend hundreds of dollars to get that look.

So as the famous saying goes...No Pain, No Gain.

Toe Cleavage Trend

The term toe cleavage is used when there is partial exposure of a woman's toes due to the shoes being cut low at the vamp. Almost similar to a low cut top exposing a woman's breast cleavage.

Toe cleavage has become an important part of fashion in the last few years and it all stems from the sensual shoe designer, Christian Louboutin.
As he puts it... "The point is it's more provocative to show a low toe cleavage than it is wearing sandals that reveal all. In flip flops you see everything but that is not at all sexy."

In some cases a discreet "peep" of the toes can actually create a provocative look, as Christian describes it, but there are some shoe designs which are cut so low that it just gives the appearance of an  ill-fitting shoe.
Well I'm not one for flaunting my breasts so if there's any type of cleavage I want to be showing, it's toes all the way for me!!

Here's my toe cleavage - that's all you're getting people!!
So what's your opinion on this bizarre new trend? Seductive or more like the ugly stepsister forcing her foot into Cinderella's glass slipper?

Innit!

I am a huge fan of Katy B and the fact that she's a Brit just adds her to my list - Adele, Jessie J, Lilly Allen - truly talented ladies. So I had to post this video for you to watch.
It reminds me of the days back in London - which I miss. Hearing the cockney slang is what did it for me! Enjoy......

SoCal Girl

Here is today's outfit post. I feel like I should be on a beach somewhere in California....
It's Friday here in Bahrain, and all roads leading into town are closed off for security reasons - can't go anywhere, so I'm better off staying at home. Was there any point getting changed? Yes, because I had to show you this maxi skirt. Absolutely love the colour and there are so many ways to wear it. In fact I might do a post on that - one skirt, 6 ways. Watch this space.

Vest: Warehouse , Skirt: Dorothy Perkins , Belt: Primark , Shoes: Office , Bag: JJ Winters , Necklace: H&M

The bag is from Beverly Hills designer JJ Winters and is available to buy at dolls&divas. Vanessa Hudgens also has the exact same one!

H&M sale...OMG!!!

Today I went out scouring the streets (or more like the malls) of Bahrain looking for stylish candidates for my "Street Style" feature whch will be issued in Ohlala!
I had so much fun doing this and people were so happy and willing to pose. It was great. I might take this up as regular feature for my blog...what do you think?

The best part of my day out was walking past H&M and discovering huge red signs all across the shop window....OMG!!!! The H&M sale!!! I love this shop but when it has a sale on, I just want to marry it and have it's babies!!
Unfortunately I only had half an hour to spare so I headed straight to the accessories section and here's what I picked up......
Earings: 500 fils , Rings: 500fils each
Ethnic cord necklace: 1 BD
Sunglasses: 1 BD

Vest: 1 BD

Belt it!

I have been super busy and super thrilled because I have been asked to be the fashion writer for Ohlala! magazine. The only problem is I have only 4 days to hand in my articles - sounds impossible but I can't wait to do this. It's an exciting venture. This is what every blogger dreams of. So if I don't keep up with my posts then you know why.
Going out for dinner tonight to Muju in Amwaj Island. Never been there but heard lots of good reviews. Here is the outfit that I put together.....

I found this belt a few days ago and I forgot I had it. I think it's about 2 years old and the tags were still on it! It's made of super soft leather and i think it's gorgeous and couldn't wait to wear it. So I created this outfit just for the belt. I also added an animal print clutch to make sure the outfit looked young and hip.
And here's what it looks like on....

(By the way.... my 7year old took these pics! Isn't she talented?!)

Blouse: Zara , Skirt: Gap , Belt: Coast , Shoes: Dune , Clutch: DKNY , Necklace: H&M

It's all about the Bling!

Here are some pics from last weekend when I went to my cousin's engagement dinner. No one had seen the ring yet so it was exciting to see what she had chosen!
My outfit I think would have looked better if the heels were higher - but I just love the coral colour of these ones so I had to wear them. They brightened up the outfit.
Pencil skirts are popular this season for creating the 'ladylike' trend. The one I'm wearing is surprisingly comfortable and super stretchy which makes it perfect for eating as much as I can at the dinner!

And there's the ring......a big diamond in the shape of a heart - very romantic!

Maxi meets Sweater

The maxi skirt teamed up with comfy knitwear was a popular look amongst the Fall 2011 runway shows. I love the comfort of this outfit. I have so many maxi skirts from last summer and now the great thing is that just by adding a slouchy sweater I'm still bang on trend for next season.
The maxi skirt is the perfect item for transitioning your summer wardrobe into fall. Do you have one yet? How would you wear yours?
I saw this picture from Gypsy 05 and loved the herringbone texture of the sweater. It inspired today's outfit.

Sweater: Dorothy Perkins , Skirt: H&M , Belt: Primark , Shoes: Office , Rings: Oasis and Boots , Necklace: Forever21 , Cuff: Dorothy Perkins , Charm bracelet: One of a Kind , Sunglasses: Valentino
